How to Pick Contractor

    Does your contractor do this?

  • Licensed with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department.
  • Insured for a minimum of 2 million dollars.
  • Uses only licensed and insured contractors.
  • Supply references.
  • Make you the boss by being flexible about design and negotiating price.
  • Live as well as work in the Colorado Springs area.
  • Provide past projects for you to personally visit.
  • Visit each job and keep you up to date on what is going on your project.
  • Pay special attention to clean your property everyday.
  • Provide professional design without charge.

Things to look for in a contractor:

  • Make sure the contractor does not do all the work himself. (You can’t be efficient and good at every job.)
  • Make sure the contractor is competitively priced.
  • Doesn’t require money until the job has started.
  • Check references and visit past job sites. (Seeing is believing)
  • Feel comfortable. Do you feel at ease or pressured?
  • Does your contractor give firm completion dates? If so, is he willing to back them up with compensation?
